Visualcontainer Italian Videoart Distributor presenta e distribuisce "LIUBA REDUX 2005" DVD ad edizione limitata e numerata dell'artista LIUBA, prodotto da PlacentiaArte.
Il progetto DVD raccoglie 4 video di Liuba in tiratura unica dal 2003 al 2005, con opere espressamente rielaborate per questa edizione.
Il DVD è nato con l’intento di rendere l’arte e la videoarte accessibile e fruibile non solo alle persone del mondo dell’arte e a coloro che seguono le rassegne contemporanee, ma anche a ciascuno che sia interessato ad avvicinarsi alle nuove tendenze dell’arte.
L’edizione a 1000 rende il costo del DVD accessibile a chiunque, ma al tempo stesso, essendo un’edizione limitata e numerata, rimane comunque un oggetto non solo di fruizione ma anche di collezione. E’ un’operazione che vuole porsi in una linea di confine tra il collezionismo artistico e la grande diffusione.

Concerning this video Harry Newman wrote: "I understand it's about private vs public, art vs the everyday, audience vs participant. I'm a writer and my first works for theater were environmental,
plays staged in public places where passers-by would suddenly cross into an art space and have to find an adjustment. So I can see all that in the piece/action.
But I think the real resonance and power of the work comes from its relationship to Magritte's painting. It's more than an homage, but a kind of transfiguration.
To see Magritte's impossible surreal images come to life, things never meant to exist, is very beautiful and engaging. It's almost mythic. But it's also unnerving to a degree.
To have one impossible thing come true like that suggests that other impossibilities, any of the things lurking at the edges of our imagination, could become real as well.
It shifts the ground around us a little. Soon we'll see men in overcoats and bowler hats floating through the sky."

BERLIN - IKONO.TV - “VIRUS” AND “THE SLOWLY PROJECT” BY LIUBA
Virus is investigating over the ‘buying bulimia’, that affects the daily-life models and the art world as well.
Liuba went to Bologna Artefiera’s opening dressed with red points.
Then she took off them from her dress and put over all the art works exhibited at the fair,
creating astonishment, collapse, confusion and funny shock over visitors, gallerists, artists. An ironical reflection over value of works and value of selling.

IkonoTV specializes in presenting art in video form, presenting artworks from the ancient world up to the present day as visual narratives constructed of moving images. The central element of IkonoTV’s philosophy is a pure visual experience of art, abstaining from commentary and additional audio during broadcast.
VERONA (I) - Liuba at ARTVERONA
with video work The Finger And The Moon # 2

Double set-up, in the Art Verona Fair videoart exhibition in Hall 7 andat the Nervi Hall of the Civic Library of Verona,for this project,
created in collaboration with the Department Culture of Verona, curated by Cecilia Freschini young curator based in Beijing, an expert on video art.
The two-channel video "The Finger And The Moon # 2", presented in the exhibition, is coming from Liuba's performance at St. Peter's Square in Rome in 2009.
The performative process behind the project is a reflection on the major religions of the world, highlighting similarities between different modes of prayer.
The dress used by the artist, unique exemplar created together with stylist Elizabeth Bianchetti,
is a suit apparently similar to that worn by Christian nuns, but with various tricks 'multifaith' that allow Liuba to practice at the same time Muslim prayer,
Jewish prayer, Buddhist meditation, Native Americans spirituality and various yoga positions-Hindus.
S.Peter's Square in the Vatican is an unusual place for this type of operation but with a strong symbolic value.
Interrupting the performance police ordered Liuba to leave because of being "not in accordance with proper standards of prayer ..."
From November 15 to 29, the exhibition will be hosted at the space [. BOX] Video Art Project Space in Milan.

UNREAL EXIT - a new performance for New York City!
I am very thrilled for this new performance I'll make for New York City! For this occasion I have prepared a performance that is representing very well my way of being here in the city in those months I've lived in. I decided to re-elaborate a concept and a series of work I had made few years ago on the theme of the 'boxes' (being in and being out of stereotypes and schemes) and make it new for this occasion, the trendiest performance festival in town!
A new performance of the Slowly Project series will take place in New York City on Feb 28 and March 2, 2011
Slowness, like silence, is the opposite of the roar of stress, the noisy devourer of all things.
Slowness as a reaction to the bulimia of wanting to consume everything while tasting nothing.
Slowness like the listening to the natural rhythm of things, a sequence of becoming that does not tower over us.
Slowness like the possibility to be amazed at a spontaneous event, silence in which a single voice might be heard.

Interactive Performance
Liuba, artista e performer di livello internazionale, lavora con video, fotografia ed urban interactive performance.
L'imprevedibilità delle reazioni umane ad un atto imprevisto ed insolito, come un abbraccio da uno sconosciuto, rendono la performance una sorta di meta linguaggio tra studio sociale e gesto artistico.
Vengono toccati alcuni tabù e fobie endemiche della nostra società che ormai ha allontanato la spontaneità e la fisicità dalle abituali relazioni umane.
In occasione di Artissima 2010, Liuba ha deciso di realizzare questa performance inedita incentrata sul tema dell'abbraccio con cui va a coinvolgere direttamente il pubblico della fiera.

Le azioni di Liuba danno voce e sostanza alle mille sfaccettature della società contemporanea, a situazioni complesse che vanno al di là del proprio mondo individuale, in cui la tensione del corpo e della mente talora è massima. Performances che nascono e crescono in contesti all’apparenza spontanei.
Una sorta di un gioco che si delinea quasi come un corpo-a-corpo che vede il pubblico divenire, al contempo, osservatore e protagonista inconsapevole, ed in cui le regole sono sempre pronte a mutare la loro natura.
